RIYADH: According to a Saudi Press Agency, the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center has introduced a new, cutting-edge technology procedure for screening for autistic spectrum disease.
This is the first technology of its kind that combines artificial intelligence with targeted visual stimulation and eye tracking.
This novel approach has been acknowledged as one of the top 25% of inventions in its field globally and as a patent filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office.
The technique offers a more reliable and efficient substitute for personal and traditional screening methods when it comes to detecting ASD, which is typified by its sensitivity and specificity.
The invention resulted from a study that required patients to share a visual stimulus in order to do an efficient examination. The study featured a diverse group of male and female volunteers across a wide age range.
The hospital’s new strategy makes it easier to identify ASD early on and treat it more successfully, which enhances the quality of life for those who have the condition and lessens the strain on educational and healthcare systems.
