UAE Astronauts Will Complete Their Training With NASA on March 5.

The astronauts Nora Al Matrooshi and Mohammad Al Mulla, who are part of the second batch of the UAE Astronaut Programme, will graduate from the 2021 NASA Astronaut Candidate Class training program on March 5 at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, US, according to a statement released by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) on Friday.

Al Matrooshi and Al Mulla are scheduled to finish over two years of rigorous training, which started in January 2022, and will qualify them for various spaceflight jobs. They received extensive training in a variety of vital areas, including robotics, spacewalking, T-38 jet capability, space station systems, and the Russian language.

In addition to the UAE’s Al Mulla and Al Matrooshi—the first female Arab astronaut—there are 10 other candidates for NASA in the 2021 class. Each applicant will get an astronaut pin during the graduation ceremony, which will serve as a memento of their graduation and qualify them for upcoming space missions, enabling them to participate in current and upcoming adventures.
