The Asia Cup final between Jordan and Qatar, the defending winners, is shaping up to be an exciting day for football fans in the United Arab Emirates. The 88,000-capacity Lusail Stadium is the site of the match, but the football craze in Dubai is growing.
The Qatari supporters are ecstatic about keeping the trophy, and many Jordanians are organizing get-togethers at cafés and houses. Everyone will wear team colors, and there will be much conversation about the match during the big celebration.
Expat Jordanian Mohammed Abualneil and his buddies are going to watch the game. “The Jordan team has never reached such great heights before. I wanted to be at the stadium to watch the most thrilling game possible. But regrettably, I could not attend as all of the tickets for the match are sold out,” stated Abualneil, who is currently searching for seats.
For the time being, I’m going to a neighboring cafe with my relatives and friends to watch the sport. As a celebration of the decade, I hope we bag the cup. We’ll celebrate our passion for the game regardless of the outcome. We’ll enjoy our traditional meal, mansaf, if Jordan makes it,” Mohammed remarked.
Another Jordanian expat, Ahmad Abu, is anticipating the game and intends to convert his house into a makeshift stadium. “My entire family and circle of friends are invited. Not only is there a game tomorrow (Saturday), but Jordan has the opportunity to demonstrate our superiority. We’ll be yelling with joy. All of us hope and pray that the squad succeeds and returns home victorious,” Abu remarked.
