After the rollercoaster in Hong Kong’s Disneyland stopped operating on Wednesday afternoon, police and fire services sent hundreds of workers to the scene. They reported that twelve individuals had been rescued.
Hyperspace Mountain, a Disney ride, ceased operating at 3:16 p.m., prompting the need for assistance from police and fire departments. According to a police spokeswoman, there was no fire or smoke at the location, and no casualties had been reported.
A fire services spokesperson stated that around 4:16 p.m., the passengers had been taken off the ride. He claimed that some forty firefighters had been sent to Disneyland, close to Hong Kong’s international airport.
Requests for a response from Disney were not immediately answered.
Disney’s website describes the Hyperspace Mountain ride as launching into Star Wars combat. Two important elements are falling deeply and into complete darkness.
A note on the website stated that it was scheduled to close from February 26 to March 1, 2024, for routine maintenance and inspection.
