On the Eve of Pakistan's Election, two Bombs Close to Election Headquarters Claimed at least 24 Lives

The day before parliamentary elections are scheduled to take place, officials reported on Wednesday that two bombs at the election headquarters of an independent candidate and a political party in southwest Pakistan had leftover twenty-six people wounded and at least twenty-four dead.

According to Jan Achakzai, the provincial government’s spokesperson, the first incident occurred in the Pashin area in the province of Balochistan. According to officials, the incident claimed the lives of at least 14 individuals, and the injured were taken to a local hospital. Several of them were classified as critically ill, according to the police.

At least ten persons were murdered in another explosion that occurred later on Wednesday at the Jamiat Ulema Islam party’s elections headquarters in Qilla Saifullah, Balochistan, according to Acahkzai and local police. The politician Fazlur Rehman is a politician.

No one quickly took credit for the attacks one day before Pakistan’s legislative elections. Gohar Ijaz, the acting interior minister, condemned the blasts.

Tens of thousands of police and paramilitary personnel were stationed around Pakistan to maintain order in the wake of a recent spike in militant strikes, particularly in Balochistan. Nevertheless, the explosion still occurred.
