According to a top executive who spoke with news Times, certain UAE citizens are now qualified to receive monthly financial compensation if they lose their jobs. These workers enrolled in the mandated unemployment insurance when it was initially offered in January 2023.
According to her, for these workers to continue receiving financial protection against losing their jobs, they must also “immediately” renew their policy. According to Dana Kansou, manager of Strategic Partnerships at Dubai Insurance, which oversees the Involuntary Loss of Employment (ILOE) insurance pool, “renewal to the scheme is mandatory to avoid cancellation of certificate of insurance.”
One requirement for filing a compensation claim is that the applicant must have been a member of the ILOE program for a minimum of 12 months. According to Kansou, this implies that those who registered in January 2023 are now qualified for payment, as reported by News-Times.
To pursue a compensation claim, individuals must first log in through the ILOE website, then select “submit a claim,” provide their Emirates ID and a working phone number in the UAE, and then follow the on-screen instructions.
