The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said that dense fog, which lasted for three hours from 6:15 am to 9:15 am on Tuesday, enveloped sporadic regions in the capital, Abu Dhabi. Due of this, Abu Dhabi Police also used the emirate’s digitally controlled variable speed system to lower speeds to 80 km/h on a number of routes. Furthermore, because of the thick fog, several Abu Dhaschools suspended their bus services.
The NCM stated that this is because the nation is being impacted by an extension of an upper-air high-pressure system, high pressure from the west and an eastward-facing surface low-pressure system.
The NCM said that fog started to form on the Abu Dhabi Corniche, ICAD, and Mussafah, as well as in various locations on the island of Abu Dhabi, Yas Island, Saadiyat, Khalifa Street toward Jubail, Al Bateen Airport, and other areas.
At 6.9°C in Ruknah, Al Ain, at 6:45 am on Tuesday, the lowest recorded national temperature was 8.2°C in Damtha at 5:45 am.
