smriti irani to visit saudi arabia

Today marks an important day for India-Saudi relations, as India’s Union Minister Smriti Irani, joined by Minister V Muraleedharan, sets off for a significant visit to Saudi Arabia. Their main agenda is to sign the Haj Agreement for 2024 in Jeddah, a key step for the upcoming Haj season.

The Consulate General of India in Jeddah announced that Minister Irani will lead this important delegation. They will also engage in important talks with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Haj and Umrah Affairs, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al Rabiah. The discussions will focus on mutual interests and preparations for Haj 2024.

After signing the Haj Agreement, Minister Irani and her team will meet with Indian business leaders and community members living in Saudi Arabia. These meetings are part of India’s effort to strengthen ties with its overseas community and enhance business relationships.

Adding to the visit’s significance, Minister Irani is scheduled to attend the 3rd Edition of the ‘Haj and Umrah Conference’ in Jeddah on January 8. This conference, organized by the Saudi Ministry of Haj and Umrah Affairs, is a key event for dialogue on Hajj and Umrah matters.

This visit by the Indian delegation is expected to further solidify the strategic partnership between India and Saudi Arabia. The focus on Haj arrangements highlights the deepening relationship between the two countries, extending beyond trade and politics into cultural and religious cooperation.
