Traffic In The UAE Has Eased, And Locals Are Urging Schools To Implement Staggered Schedules.

Thanks to the holidays, there is less traffic these days for both drivers and residents. Some are proposing that schools implement staggered schedules in order to improve traffic in UAE when classes resume the next week.

For the previous few days, Ferdinand Fraga, a longtime resident of Dubai, has been enjoying a time savings of almost twenty percent. He travels a lot for work at the Dubai Multi Commodities Center, and the vicinity of schools is usually where he gets stuck.

He stated to Khaleej Times that “all school areas are choke points” and that parents spend one to two minutes dropping off and picking up their children in the morning and afternoon. However, given the number of cars that pass by the schools, those few minutes might add up to larger times, and this delay impacts the surrounding roads, resulting in heavy traffic.

There’s not a lot of traffic while schools are out. Staggered school entry is one approach that I believe can be used, he continued. This way, pupils won’t arrive at the same time, and we can cut down on the amount of automobiles in the morning after everyone else has left for work.
