The weather service has sent out warnings for rain and storms in coastal and some inland areas today, including parts of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and other places. These warnings will last until 8:30 tonight.

Abu Dhabi Police are telling drivers to be careful on the wet roads and to watch for speed limit signs that might change. Sharjah Police are also asking everyone to drive safely and not to speed when the weather is bad. They say people should stay home if they can, but if they must go out, they should keep a safe distance from other cars and be extra careful when turning.

People are advised not to go into low areas or valleys when it’s raining to avoid trouble and fines.

The weather service also says that the east part of the country could have sudden floods, so people should stay clear of those areas. There have been reports of thunder this morning, and some videos of the rain in Sharjah and Ajman are circulating on social media.

It’s also going to get cooler, with temperatures dropping to 26°C in Abu Dhabi and 27°C in Dubai. The mountains might even see temperatures as low as 16°C today.

The sea will be a bit rough in the Arabian Gulf and calmer in the Oman Sea.
