His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has urged all ministries, governmental bodies, and institutions to proudly hoist the UAE flag at 10am on November 3. This year marks the 11th anniversary of this national occasion.
While it isn’t a public holiday, Flag Day sees both Emiratis and expatriates unite to raise the flag in various locations, including offices, schools, and parks.
Speaking on platform X, Sheikh Mohammed said, “We celebrate the flag of our homeland on November 3 and invite everyone in the nation to participate in this national initiative.” He emphasized that Flag Day is a time to honor the country’s unity and accomplishments.
Introduced in 2013, Flag Day is commemorated every year on November 3. As per the UAE government’s official website, the flag’s colors signify:
- Green: Hope, joy, love, optimism, and the nation’s prosperity.
- White: Peace and honesty.
- Black: Defeat of adversaries and mental fortitude.
- Red: Resilience, valor, strength, and bravery.
