The Public Prosecution in UAE reminded us that the punishment for public sector employees who steal money from their place of work is jail time.

The authority took to social media to remind the UAE residents of the penalty for this fraud.

Suppose a public employee is caught stealing money on the job or an assignment. In that case, the punishment is a minimum of five years in jail if the crime involves forgery, using a forged document, or possessing a stamped copy of an official record.

The Public Prosecution said that this is in accordance with Article 260 of Federal Decree-Law no. 31 of 2021.
