In Dubai, 94 Major Accidents Occurred as a Result of Improper Lane Changes in the Previous Six Months

Brigadier Jumaa Salem Bin Suwaidan, the deputy director of Dubai Police’s General Department of Traffic, outlined serious errors that some drivers make and which can result in deadly traffic accidents.

He made the point that a lot of people fall prey to the errors of others because some drivers are unaware of how serious their traffic infractions are. They might erroneously think that their transgressions are unimportant, but they can potentially cause terrible accidents that injure innocent people. The emirate’s streets have seen a number of traffic infractions, according to Brigadier bin Suwaidan, which have nearly resulted in serious accidents.

Drivers committed these violations to enter main streets, which resulted in some of the most dangerous accidents due to collisions between two vehicles moving in opposite directions towards a single point,” he explained. These violations include dangerous reversing, driving against traffic flow, and failing to obey mandatory lanes.

According to Brigadier bin Suwaidan, data from the General Department of Traffic showed 94 traffic accidents in the previous six months. 64 of these incidents were caused by drivers failing to stay in designated lanes. Fourteen accidents were caused by driving against the flow of traffic. In addition, disregarding mandatory lanes resulted in 16 accidents.
