Aldar Properties has revealed that it is putting Dh1 million towards a new collaboration with Dubai Cares, which will see 10,000 school kits given to low-income children in the UAE prior to the 2024–2025 school year.
Through this partnership, 100 Aldar employees and other volunteers will be mobilised to put together necessary school kits, which will be given to these students prior to the commencement of the upcoming academic year. The volunteer activity is scheduled for August 23, 2024.
The collaboration will introduce Dubai Cares’ “Back to School” version of “Volunteer Emirates” to Abu Dhabi for the first time, in keeping with Aldar’s mission to generate social value. The programme, which was started in 2009 and is a mainstay of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives’ Dubai Cares, has been well-received in the United Arab Emirates.
Aldar’s Group Chief Financial and Sustainability Officer, Faisal Falaknaz, made the following statement: “Every child should have access to a high-quality education and the resources they require to grow and learn. We are committed to removing obstacles to education, especially for disadvantaged kids, and are pleased to support Dubai Cares in its ‘Back to School’ campaign for 2024 as a community-focused developer and owner-operator of schools.”
