Private Schools in Dubai Rank Highly Worldwide.

Dubai’s private schools are still doing exceptionally well in global rankings, coming in second in financial literacy and sixth in creative thinking, according to a study done as part of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development’s (OECD) Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) 2022.

PISA tests, which are administered every three years, assess students’ ability to apply real-world reading, maths, and science skills to real-world scenarios. In 2022, Dubai took part for the first time in the additional financial literacy and creative thinking domains.

The OECD states that financial literacy assesses students’ knowledge, comprehension, and drive to make wise decisions in a variety of financial circumstances, as well as their ability to recognise and manage financial risks.

Students’ capacity to generate, assess, and refine ideas that lead to novel and practical solutions, breakthroughs in understanding, and significant creative expressions is measured by their creative thinking skills.

With 522 points, Dubai private schools scored higher than the OECD global average of 498 points in the financial literacy category, placing them second out of 20 participating countries and regions.

Of the 4,478 Dubai-based students who took part, 82% said they knew how to manage their money and 79% said they had savings objectives for things they wanted to do or buy. Regarding creative thinking, Dubai private schools came in sixth place out of 64 participating nations and regions, receiving 36 points as opposed to the OECD average of 33.
