A weak surface pressure system and an air extension in the upper layers of the atmosphere caused the country to be covered in fog on Friday morning, which lasted for eight and a half hours, beginning at midnight and ending at 8:30 am. The fog covered some coastal and inland areas of the United Arab Emirates.
The following roads in Abu Dhabi saw the onset of fog: Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Road from Expo towards Abu Dhabi; Emirates Road from Al Maktoum International Airport towards Abu Dhabi; Jebel Ali in Dubai; and Sharjah International Airport. Saih Shuaib Road, Saih Al Sudaira Road, Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Road, Al Faya and Al Wathba Road.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) predicted that Saturday’s weather would be mostly clear and humid at night and on Sunday morning, with a chance of light fog forming over some coastal areas. The winds that blow over the sea will be light to moderate and occasionally vigorous from the southwest to the northwest at night.
Additionally, NCM predicted that on Sunday morning, conditions in the Arabian Gulf would be light to moderate, occasionally turbulent, and light in the Sea of Oman.
The weather on Sunday is expected to be mostly clear and occasionally dusty, with a dip in temperature and humidity at night and on Monday morning. Light fog may also form over some inland and coastal areas, particularly in the north and east, and light winds from the southwest to the north.
