An Ajman man who turned over a sizable sum of missing cash to the police was rewarded for his “honesty.”
El Fattah Abdel While using the ATM, Mahmoud Abdel Fattah, an Egyptian, discovered that he had Dh140,000 in cash.
He went straight to the police station and gave them the money. The authorities commended him for his integrity, morality, and eagerness to give the money back to the rightful owner.
Abdel Fattah stated that his deed was a “national and moral duty towards members of society” after accepting the certificate of appreciation. He congratulated the authority on its acknowledgement.
Residents have previously received rewards for their admirable deed. Similar circumstances occurred in 2021 when an Indian man received recognition for turning over cash discovered at an Abu Dhabi ATM. The same year, two men—an Arab and an Asian—were honoured for returning a misplaced wallet they discovered at the capital city bus terminal.
There are numerous examples of good samaritans being rewarded for their deeds, from finding money under a desk to taxi drivers receiving rewards for reporting lost cash to the police.
An Indian expat discovered a staggering Dh1 million in a lift in 2022 and gave it to Dubai Police right away. In a different instance, a man was commended for his bravery in taking on a thief who was attempting to steal Dh2.7 million in addition to his honesty.
