Spark Behind The Journey
We started the interview by asking, “What ignited your passion and led you to embark on your professional journey in this particular field?”
Barbara Pizzi shared, “I believe my journey began with a simple yet profound desire: to bring the dreams of those around me to life. Each person carries aspirations and a unique perspective, and I find immense fulfillment in understanding these intricacies.
Rather than relying solely on technology, I cherish the tactile connection with pen and paper, where emotions flow freely. This remains one of the main purposes of my work, which first and foremost represents a passion for life.”
Offering A Unique Value
We were intrigued to learn more about the origin backstory of Barbara Pizzi’s business. So, we asked, “Share more about your background and the unique story behind the inception of your business. What sets it apart in the market?”
Barbara Pizzi responded passionately, “I think a distinctive aspect of the current architectural landscape is the multicultural nature of the projects I work on. Being based in various parts of the world has given me insights into diverse realities, enriching both my professional and personal journey with a range of experiences and emotions.
Having worked in India, Pakistan, the Middle East, and now in Dubai, I’m particularly interested in understanding the architectural dynamics of Saudi Arabia.”
Busting Common Myths
Every industry has some prevalent misconceptions that need to be addressed by an expert. We asked, “Identify a prevalent misconception about your industry or role that you believe needs clarification. How would you address and rectify this perception?”
“The relationship between beauty and utility in architecture is a complex topic that often takes on a negative form in the minds of many people. I would like to convey the idea that one does not exclude the other, that we can achieve harmonious aesthetics without sacrificing the technical aspect, and vice versa.
Another point on which I often focus is: never forget in my design process and development the importance of the past, the future’s past. I draw from the teachings of tradition to turn towards the future, and I always keep this in mind along with the concept of nature coexisting with architecture.” She replied.
Adaptability Amidst Challenges
Challenges are a part of every journey. To learn how Barbara Pizzi overcomes such situations in her business, we inquired, “Reflecting on your journey, what significant challenges have you encountered in your business, and how did you successfully navigate and overcome them?”
Barbara Pizzi shared, “I believe that every life and career journey presents daily challenges. My challenge over time has remained the same because it is to allow all of us to live in an environment that makes us feel good so that the smile we all seek can be constantly present on our faces. My challenge is to work towards improving quality of life.”
Plans We Asked Barbara Pizzi
We further asked, “Outline your professional aspirations and goals. What strategic initiatives are you implementing to achieve these objectives?”
Barbara Pizzi replied, “The key concept right now is connectivity. By discussing my ideas and professional goals with other experts in the field, I can enrich myself through comparisons and gather further insights to realize my most significant projects. Currently, my focus is primarily on housing developments, particularly in the context of self-sustainable cities within desert territories and beyond.
Our main life goal is to contribute to a conservative quality of life by engaging with untamed territories and unveiling their culture and uniqueness. We aim to enter these areas with a deep respect for the local culture and inhabitants. Presently, we are confronted with the challenge of working in untouched territories while preserving their authenticity, and our objective is to create life projects that are socially, economically, and environmentally sustainable.”
Fostering A Healthy Workspace
Collaboration and teamwork are integral to success. We asked, “Could you elaborate on the methods and practices you employ to foster a culture of collaboration within your organization or group?”
Barbara Pizzi said, “I firmly believe in the power of collaboration and teamwork, which is exemplified by the diverse group that comprises my team. This diversity extends not only to technical expertise but also to cultural backgrounds. I think that everyone possesses untapped potential that can enrich the collective.
A collaborative culture thrives in a positive and stimulating environment where individuals are encouraged to freely express their ideas and engage in respectful dialogue with their peers.”
Envisioning The Future
To gather Barbara Pizzi’s insights on emerging trends in her industry, we inquired, “How do you foresee the evolution of your industry or field over the next 5-10 years? Are there emerging trends or innovations that you anticipate playing a pivotal role?”
Barbara Pizzi replied, “I believe that the future of architecture will be strongly influenced by technological innovation to enhance its technical and engineering aspects. On the other hand, I also believe that a return to nature, simplicity, and connection with the environment around us is currently a fundamental need for humanity.
We aim to design a self-sustaining habitat that combines nature and technology, respecting the environment and utilizing renewable resources for a healthy living space. It’s important to remember the three P – People, Purpose, and Planet. And our Purpose is People and Planet. The goal is to create awareness of people’s well-being on the planet.”
Current Offerings
We asked, “Take a moment to introduce our visitors to the standout services/products your business offers. What unique value do they bring to the market or consumers?”
Barbara Pizzi shared, “Certainly, the fact that every architectural work, whether public or private, is shaped around people and their needs brings a unique value to each project we present.
Currently, we are dedicating ourselves to a project that is very dear to us, primarily unfolding in the desert, a place of strong emotions that I love to define as a stirring ground of souls, one that sets our imagination galloping. It can be inhospitable at times, yet simultaneously evocative, enchanting, and undoubtedly the destination of curious travelers. For this reason, it is the focal point of our design endeavor.
The future of cities and human involvement in them is often discussed, with concepts like smart cities and eco-cities taking center stage. However, the focus on cities for humans and the natural environment is lacking. The solution is simpler than we think. Each time we sit on a rock, we connect with the Earth, our host. We must respect and honor this home, where we find solace and peace, and develop our senses. From birth to growth and death, it teaches us profound lessons about life.”
She added, “I wish I could give you more insights into these two major projects but they remain very confidential. We just want to add some concepts:
- Desert Rose – The land of Happiness: Meditation’s essence lies in the desert’s silent power, guiding us towards enlightenment. ‘A journey into the desert’ captivates us by encompassing physical, mental, imaginary, and spiritual realms, teaching us the art of surrender.
- New Vision for The Next Habitat – Oman: Oman’s enchanting landscapes, from desert dunes to ocean waves, tell timeless tales. Nature and community dance in a sustainable waltz, preserving our natural heritage with every step towards progress.”
Advice For Beginners
Lastly, seeking guidance for beginners in this relevant field, we asked Barbara Pizzi, “Drawing from your experience, what valuable advice would you offer to individuals who are just embarking on their journey in this industry? What key lessons have shaped your professional perspective?”
“Never stop dreaming and looking far ahead. Only by dreaming can dreams come true.” She concluded.
