Colm McLoughlin, executive vice chairman and CEO of Dubai Duty-Free, announced that he will be leaving the company on May 31, 2024, after 55 years in the travel retail sector and 41 years as CEO.
The current COO of Dubai Duty-Free, Ramesh Cidambi, will take on the role of Managing Director and report directly to Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the Chairman of Dubai Duty-Free and President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority. The Joint COO currently serving, Salah Tahlak, will advance to Deputy Managing Director.McLoughlin, who spearheaded Dubai Duty-Free’s ascent to become the world’s largest duty-free enterprise, will continue to serve in an advisory capacity. He will continue to serve as the Dubai Duty Free Foundation’s chairman and go to sponsored athletic events.
I am pleased to announce my retirement and want to extend my sincere thanks to all of our staff and management who have supported me so well,” McLoughlin stated. Of course, a special thank you to our Chairman, H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, who has been an amazing boss to me for the past several years and who I know will support my successor to the same extent.”
