Four ways Dubai is Creating the Future city: Inter-Emirate Trains, the Largest Airport in the World

Nobody could have predicted thirty years ago that a tiny village in the desert would grow into a massive, futuristic metropolis Dubai that draws millions of visitors and investors annually.

The city has a history of implementing bold, futuristic ideas and is unafraid to take on huge initiatives.

When it is finished, it will be five times larger than Dubai International Airport (DXB). Once it is completely operational, AMI can handle up to 260 million passengers annually, which will only increase the city’s tourism even further.

Because the airport will use technologies never before seen in the aviation industry, passengers are in for a treat. The new airport will cover 70 square kilometers. Over 400 aircraft gates will be housed in five-passenger terminals with five parallel runways.

Dubai residents like taking trips outside the city, particularly during public holidays. Travel between the Emirates will now be quicker and easier, thanks to the nearly completed construction of the much-awaited Etihad Rail passenger train.

The passenger train will make travel more accessible and more comfortable for locals by connecting 11 towns and areas around the United Arab Emirates. It will cross the regions of Al Sila and Fujairah, including Al Ruwais, Al Mirfa, Sharjah, and Al Dhaid, as well as Dubai and Abu Dhabi. According to the Etihad Rail website, the UAE’s National Rail Network is currently complete and in use for commercial purposes.
