Hundreds of drones lit up the night sky in various patterns, including a massive falcon, gazelle, driverless car, and more, giving Yas Island visitors an unexpectedly stunning spectacle.
The unexpected evening celebration was planned to commemorate Abu Dhabi Mobility Week (ADMW), which runs until May 1. The Department of Municipalities and Transport – Abu Dhabi (DMT) is hosting the first ADMW, which will be jam-packed with activities. The first event is a two-day DRIFTx on Friday at Yas Marina Circuit. It will include intelligent, self-governing, and environmentally friendly air, land, and marine urban mobility technologies from around the globe.
Another highlight will be a race pitting Abu Dhabi’s Technology Innovation Institute (TII) autonomous vehicle against former Formula One driver Daniil Kvyat.
The location will change to Zayed Port’s Souq Al Mina on Sunday for the “Abu Dhabi Canvas Community Tour,” a bicycle tour that takes participants past important Abu Dhabi monuments. All skill levels are welcome to participate in this event. Monday is the scheduled date for an academic awareness campaign that aims to educate students in educational institutions about transportation and mobility through activities and discussions.
