Despite Clearance, a Dubai School Organization Declares "No Hike in Fees"

A Dubai school company has made the decision not to increase tuition for the upcoming academic year. This occurs at the same time when Dubai’s private schools are permitted to raise their tuition by up to 5.2%, contingent on their performance in the most recent yearly inspections.

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), which oversees education in Dubai, announced on Tuesday an Education Cost Index (ECI) of 2.6%, which schools will use to modify their tuition for the 2024–2025 academic year.

Punit MK Vasu, CEO of The Indian High Group of Schools, outlined the reasons to Khaleej Times why the school fees will not be raised for a second consecutive year.

Depending on the circumstances of our organization, the KHDA has allowed our not-for-profit group of schools to ask for a price adjustment outside and higher of the rate eligibility scale. With great pleasure, we announce that, despite the ever-rising operational costs, the world’s record-high rates of inflation, and the KHDA’s approval to raise fees above the standard scale, we have decided not to raise tuition for the 2024–2025 academic year.

Vasu said, “We are choosing to maintain the status quo and keep school tuition fees as is, just as we did last year.”
