An Armed Guy Suspected of Being an Israeli Spy is Arrested by Malaysia

According to Malaysia’s senior police official, an armed guy was apprehended at a Kuala Lumpur hotel. The 36-year-old was identified as a possible Israeli spy.

Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain said at a press conference late on Friday that the guy, who was discovered with six handguns and 200 rounds, had landed at Kuala Lumpur International Airport on March 12 using what they thought to be a forged French passport.

Razarudin stated that although the suspect informed authorities he had come to Malaysia to look for another Israeli citizen because of a family conflict, police were still looking into the potential that the individual might be a member of Israeli intelligence.

“However, we do not fully trust this narrative as we suspect another agenda,” Razarudin stated, mentioning that the individual in custody had been in some hotels while in Malaysia. According to Razarudin, police were also looking into how the suspect got the guns, which he had paid for with cryptocurrencies and bought in Malaysia.

Malaysia, a majority-Muslim country, is a staunch supporter of the Palestinians and has criticized Israel’s actions in the Gaza war. Malaysia, which does not have diplomatic ties with Israel, is home to around 600 Palestinian refugees, according to the UN refugee agency.
