With a Strong Storm Hitting the UAE, Dubai Airports Issues a Travel Advisory.

Dubai: Due to the most intense Storm rainfall in 75 years, Emirates News Agency urged travelers not to go to Dubai International Airport but to check the status of their flights with the airline.

Following the flooding, aircraft were still being delayed and diverted, according to Dubai Airports, which advised travelers to check with their airline for the most recent travel updates. The airport posted on X, “We are working hard to recover operations as quickly as possible in very challenging conditions.

On Wednesday, Emirates Airlines said that all travel protocols would remain in place for customers arriving in Dubai and those traveling there. The Dubai Airport’s website was active until midnight. According to the airport’s website, some flights had significant delays.

Tuesday saw record-breaking rain in the United Arab Emirates; 254 mm of rain fell in Al-Ain in less than a day, according to the National Center of Meteorology. As records have been kept since 1949, this is the highest level. Following the nationwide deluge that confused, the officials spent Wednesday morning clearing away the debris.

UAE media and social media posts showed significant damage in some parts of the country, including collapsed roads and flooded homes. Others included images of roads and car parks under water, with some vehicles submerged.
