When Drivers Create Noise in Residential Zones in Abu Dhabi, they Face a Dhs 2,000 Punishment and 12 Black Points.

Drivers, particularly children, have been cautioned by Abu Dhabi Police not to make loud noises or drive carelessly on some routes, particularly those that are close to residential areas.

They clarified that vehicle noise disturbs the community’s serenity and induces fear, anxiety, and tension in other drivers, pedestrians, and neighborhood inhabitants, particularly in the case of young people, sick people, and the elderly.

Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi Police called on the public to report vehicles that make irritating noises in residential neighborhoods by calling the number (999) at the Command and Control Centre, stressing that they would not be lenient with drivers who do this and would take legal measures against them.

These include a fine of Dhs2,000 plus 12 black points for driving noisy vehicles under article 20 of the UAE Traffic Law and Dhs1,000 plus 12 black points for modifying the vehicle’s engine or chassis without permission following article 73 thereof. The last violation will require the car to be impounded for 30 days and released only after paying Dhs10,000.
