Vietnam Airlines is ramping up its international flights, nearing a full recovery to 90% of its pre-COVID-19 international network, reports the Vietnam News Agency (VNA).
Starting September 23, the carrier will add an extra weekly flight to its existing Hanoi-Beijing service, taking it from three to four flights a week. Currently, Vietnam Airlines operates a daily service from both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Guangzhou and Shanghai in China.
On October 29, the airline will boost its flight schedule to several destinations in Australia and Europe. The Hanoi-Melbourne route will see an increase from two to three weekly flights. Alongside this, December 7 marks the launch of a new direct service from Ho Chi Minh City to Perth, operating three times a week.
As for Europe, Vietnam Airlines is expanding its services to the UK and Germany. UK flights will now operate seven times a week, up from the current five, including four weekly flights from Hanoi and three from Ho Chi Minh City. Additionally, daily flights from Hanoi to Germany will be offered, an increase from the existing six weekly flights.
Lastly, the airline will add one more weekly flight to its Ho Chi Minh City to France route, bringing the total to four flights per week.
The increase in flight frequency aims to meet growing demand as travel restrictions ease, allowing Vietnam Airlines to get closer to its pre-pandemic operational levels.
