"Up to Dh8,000 For Two Kids": Concerns About the High Cost of Summer Camps are Shared by Parents in The UAE

Parents in the UAE are growing more concerned about finding cheap ways to keep their kids busy as summer vacation approaches.

They have expressed concerns about the high cost of summer camps, which many parents find difficult to pay in order to enroll their children.

Some parents are even thinking of keeping their kids at home instead of enrolling them in these expensive camps because they claim the latter don’t make a big difference in their academic growth.

While reasonably priced summer camps can be found for as little as Dh311 per week, or Dh1,244 per month, parents are more interested in options that provide a larger variety of activities. The more desirable camps cost Dh770 per week, or more than Dh3,000 per month, and offer children exclusive learning opportunities and entertainment experiences.

As most schools get ready to close on July 5, Khaleej Times reached out to a variety of parents to find out what their kids will be doing over the summer.

Miranda emphasized that a child’s interests can be satisfied by a variety of things in Dubai that might not be found in many other locations.
