Ukraine welcomes the air defense coalition of its Western friends.

President Volodymyr Zelensky and his defense minister hailed the establishment of a 20-nation “coalition” by Ukraine’s Western partners on Thursday to strengthen air defenses, which are regarded as a crucial component of the nation’s struggle against Russian forces.

According to Zelensky, the group was established at a virtual conference of the “Ramstein group” that looked at Ukraine’s military requirements. It is one of several focused on particular aspects of the country’s defense.

Germany and France would assume the leading positions in the group, according to a post made earlier by Germany’s Defense Ministry on X, the old Twitter.

Zelensky added in his nightly video address, “Thanks to every country participating in these efforts for enabling our cities and villages to be better protected against Russian attacks.”

“Not everything can be made public just yet, but every month the Ukrainian air shield gets stronger.”

The German air defense package, which was unveiled this week during Defense Minister Boris Pistorius’ visit to Kyiv, was among the other aid that participants had agreed upon, as indicated by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. A Dutch package and Estonian financing for IT assistance were also mentioned.
