UAE Schools 9 Days Mid-Terms Holidays In Some Schools

UAE Schools

From Monday, many students in the UAE are enjoying their mid-term break; on the other hand, many are looking forward to their half-term break starting on Thursday. Some schools are closed from 13 to February 17, others are closed only from 13 and 14, and some will start their mid-term break on February 16, Thursday.

The holidays will be extended over nine and four days due to the weekend days, which fall on February 11 and 12 and 18 and 19. Hence, classes for the majority of the schools will continue from Monday, February 20.

As most IB and British Board schools will have a mid-term break, most American Board schools will not have a half-term break.

Besides this, Indian curriculum schools will also not have a break at this time of the year, as they will have a half-month holiday in March.

As per each emirate and specific dates, the holidays will be distributed throughout the academic year in private schools that will follow foreign curricula. The holidays for the remaining months of the current academic year will be three consecutive weeks, two consecutive weeks, and a third week.

As per the official holiday calendar approved by the UAE government, holidays for Eid Al Fitr are from Ramadan 29 to Shawwal 3. According to the astronomical calculations, this will be from Thursday, April 29, till Sunday, April 23. However, actual dates are based on the moon sighting.

The holiday of Eid Al Adha will be from Tuesday, June 27, to Friday, June 30.

Irrespective of the syllabus they teach, the summer break should be at most 8.2 weeks in all the schools in the UAE.
