To improve driving safety, the Abu Dhabi Police have urged drivers to ensure the road is clear before entering. They have listed five essential guidelines that need to be adhered to: slowing down at the road’s entrance, using the side light signal, slowing down if a car is parked in front of you, giving vehicles coming from the main road priority when crossing, and making sure the road is free of vehicles.
According to data from the Ministry of Interior on traffic accidents broken down by type of offense, 15,613 offenses of “entering the road without making sure it is clear” were reported by traffic departments nationwide in 2023. If you enter the road before making sure it is clear, you will be fined Dha400 plus four traffic points.
According to the statistical data, Umm Al Quwain 55, Ras Al Khaimah 269, Fujairah 208, Sharjah 1,399, Ajman 1,911, Abu Dhabi 5,752, and Dubai 6,019, respectively.
According to statistical analysis, 371 traffic accidents happened nationwide last year because drivers did not check to make sure the road was clear before entering it. Of these, 214 took place in Dubai, 12 in Sharjah, 11 in Ajman, 32 in Ras Al Khaimah, 22 in Fujairah, and 10 in Umm Al Quwain. Of these, 70 occurred in Abu Dhabi.
Drivers have been urged by the Central Operations Sector’s Directorate of Traffic and Patrols to pay closer attention to the road, maintain greater focus, and avoid using their phones while driving.
