Although Dnata suffered a small revenue loss, the extraordinary rains that fell on the United Arab Emirates last month did not have a substantial financial impact. The company’s operation, which provides ground handling, cargo, travel, and flight catering services at Dubai International (DXB) airport, was affected by unstable weather conditions.
However, there was no damage to the company’s infrastructure during the record rains in mid-April, Steve Allen, CEO of Dnata Group, said.
The UAE experienced its heaviest rainfall in 75 years, which caused Dubai International Airport to flood and forced the cancellation of over 2,000 flights.
“On the day of the storm, the operations were greatly affected by the heavy rains because all of the DXB employees live in Dubai and found it difficult to get to work.
During a Tuesday media briefing, Allen stated, “It was a very extreme situation, but we recovered incredibly fast as an aviation community, and within days, things were back to normal and up and running quickly.”
“The financial impact wasn’t that big. Naturally, we lost some income because there were fewer flights taking off and landing, but our infrastructure was unharmed and all of the equipment could be recovered, according to the CEO of dnata Group.
