UAE Pledged to Improve Travel Connections With the BRICS Countries

The first tourism forum of the BRICS grouping of emerging-market countries was held in Moscow, and Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Emirates Tourism Council, led the UAE delegation. Top officials hailed the event as a “great achievement” toward reducing travel formalities and fostering cooperation among the hospitality sectors of the grouping.
Abdullah Bin Touq emphasized during the meeting the UAE’s dedication to advancing sustainable tourism partnerships and fortifying its tourism cooperation with the BRICS nations. These collaborations are anticipated to further the goals of “UAE Vision 2031” by promoting economic expansion, facilitating knowledge transfer and cultural exchange, and strengthening the UAE’s standing as a top travel destination worldwide.

“We are dedicated to carrying on with our BRICS partners in order to create a tourism sector that is resilient and sustainable. “To facilitate travel, increase tourism flows between member countries, and provide a unique tourism experience for visitors from around the world, we will improve air connectivity and infrastructure, take advantage of the strategic location of the UAE and member countries, embrace digital transformation and technology in various tourism sectors and activities, and share best practices,” the Minister stated.

He also mentioned that a period of prosperity and growth is anticipated in the tourism sector, fueled by the strong rebound of the global tourism industry growth indicators in 2023. Based on data released by the United Nations World Tourism Organization, these have increased to 88% of pre-COVID pandemic levels, with revenues estimated at $1.6 trillion. This emphasizes how important it is to keep funding and working toward the growth of tourism.
