At the Global Dubai Tea Forum, the daily cuppa will be under debate; whose eighth edition will be hosted and organised in the city from April 25- April 27 this year by the DMCC under the subject, ” Unpacking the Future of Tea: From Consumer Trends to New Market Opportunities.”

As per the organisers’ statement by Wam, the news agency of the Emirates stated,” Today tea is one of the most widely traded commodities, which is close to $50 billion. The statement indicated, “Astonishingly, this figure is predicted to grow by around 49 per cent this decade, supported by many growth factors, especially a new generation of consumers turning to tea”.

It added that global demand is increasing in all fields, generating the need for various choices, including new flavoured teas and speciality products.

The statement also added that, As one of the most crucial traditions on the international tea industry calendar, the Global Dubai Tea Forum would bring together stakeholders of the industry from across the globe, including tea producers, buyers, suppliers, and governments, to discuss, explore and address a blend of topics.

From critical trends like the new generation of consumers valuing the rich diversity, cultured history and lifestyle benefits of tea to significant challenges like inflation, constant supply chains, advanced technologies, climate change and the drive for greater sustainability, the conference will eventually address how the tea industry can capitalise on the present opportunities and explore the challenges within the sector to push global growth.

After its beginning in 2022, the DMCC Tea Centre has witnessed constant growth, handling around 33,902 million kilograms of tea last year alone. The services of the Centre have proved invaluable to the tea value chain, as they allow the industry to capitalise on the increasing demand for speciality and premium teas while ensuring consistency and quality.
