UAE: Hidden Salt in Packed Food can Cause Stroke, Blood Pressure, and Heart Disease, the Ministry Warns

Authorities have warned about the dangers of hidden salts in many food products, which pose health risks.

Excessive salt intake can lead to diseases such as high blood pressure, heart disease, circulatory problems, and stroke, according to the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP), which has emphasized the importance of reducing salt in diets to improve overall health.

To combat the dangers of hidden salt, MoHAP launched a seven-day campaign to raise public awareness about the risks of excessive salt consumption and its negative impact on community health.

The initiative’s goal was to provide community members with the knowledge and skills they needed to cook their favorite meals with healthier alternatives to salt, to educate them on the negative health effects of salt, and to help them choose healthier food products by understanding salt content labels.

The campaign’s goal is to encourage community members to adopt healthier eating habits by reducing their salt intake and choosing low-salt food products. It is consistent with the ministry’s strategy to improve the quality of healthy living and raise community awareness about adopting nutritious eating habits.
