UAE Demands that Private Sector Businesses Complete Emiratization Goals by June 30.

Companies in the private sector with 50 employees or more are urged by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE) to fulfil their half-yearly Emiratization targets by 2024. According to the relevant Cabinet Resolution, these targets entail a 1% increase in Emiratis’ skilled positions within these companies.

The Ministry has announced that it will begin monitoring companies’ compliance on July 1st and has set June 30th as the final deadline for achieving Emiratization targets for the first half of 2024 (H1 2024).

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (MoHRE) congratulated businesses that have already met the necessary goals and emphasized the significance of enrolling UAE nationals in the Wage Protection System (WPS) and one of the approved pension funds. It urged businesses to continue growing. The Ministry has also called on companies falling short of their Emiratisation targets to benefit from the “Nafis” platform, which houses data about qualified Emirati nationals seeking employment across various specializations and who possess the required competencies. Using the Ministry’s digital and field supervision system, 1,379 businesses were found to be trying to hire 2,170 UAE citizens illegally between mid-2022 and May 16, 2024, in an attempt to avoid Emiratization targets.
