The UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has officially declared 2024 as the Year of Sustainability, extending the thematic focus from 2023. This announcement was made on National Environment Day.

In a statement shared on X, Sheikh Mohamed emphasized the critical importance of environmental protection and resource conservation within the UAE’s well-established sustainability framework. He underlined that this commitment is a shared responsibility for all members of society.

Furthermore, the leader expressed the UAE’s unwavering dedication to collaborating with nations worldwide to address environmental risks and build upon the significant UAE agreement forged during the COP28 conference. This collective effort is aimed at securing a brighter future for humanity and fostering global environmental sustainability.
