On Wednesday, January 3, 2024, the sixty-year-old Hindu temple in Bur Dubai will move its operations to a new site in Jebel Ali.
There are signs indicating that the Shiva temple in Bur Dubai has moved to Jebel Ali posted at each of the temple’s entrances. The notification says: This is to notify all of our devotees that this temple will be moved to our new Hindu Temple Jebel Ali as of Wednesday, January 3, 2024.
Since its construction in the late 1950s, the temple has served as a center of worship for Hindus living in the United Arab Emirates.
The Khaleej Times has reached out to the management of the temple in order to obtain details on a recent declaration. We have been notified by a temple committee member that they are in contact with the appropriate authorities and will provide us with updates as soon as they become available.
Punit Mehta, who has been going to the temple since he was a little child, expressed his regret at not being able to visit Bur Dubai at this time. My recollections of this temple visit are deeply embedded. I haven’t visited here in twenty years,” Mehta remarked.
After reading the notification, Narendre, an Al Qusais resident and fellow devotee, felt depressed. “I visit this place and spend time with many other devotees, as well as the flower sellers, idol sellers, and many others, and they all became a part of my life,”
