UAE: A House Fire in Fujairah Claims the Lives of Two Children

An 8-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy from Emirati have perished in a fire at their Fujairah home. A five-year-old child who suffered severe injuries has been rescued by authorities.

At two in the morning on Tuesday, June 25, the Civil Defense Operating Room was notified that a fire had started in the Al Tuwiyain home. Teams from Civil Defence arrived at the house right away and got to work. After making sure the house was secure, they began tending to the injured and sent them to Dibba Hospital for additional care. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire and have not yet determined it.

As the nation’s summer season gets underway, Brigadier Ali Obaid Al Tunaiji, Director of the Fujairah Civil Defence Department, urged the populace to heed orders from the authorities.

Due to the possibility of higher electrical loads brought on by air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, he urged locals to maintain their electrical lines and the security of their extensions.

The commander in chief of the Fujairah Police, Major General Mohammed Ahmed bin Ghanem Al Kaabi, offered his condolences for the loss of the two children and wished a quick recovery to the family that was injured.
