Dr. Salama Al Ahli, an Emirati, signed up for the UAE mission to Al Arish with the sole intention of surrounding herself with children, as she was injured in the Gaza battle. “I adore kids,” she declared when speaking with Khaleej Times on the exclusive charter flight. That’s the reason I went into pediatrics. I wanted to give these kids hugs and try to ease some of their pain.
But during the 15-hour mission, she discovered more than just providing the injured kids with assistance. She remarked, “I was able to establish a personal connection with some of them.” “One of the girls was really unhappy and had burns all over her face. She was unwilling to talk to anyone. She spent some time playing with my lipstick after I showed her my makeup box. I showed her the mirror, and she grinned.
Dr. Salama acknowledged that the encounter exceeded her expectations significantly. She remarked, “I believe it has improved me as a doctor, a mother, and a person.”
A second group of Palestinian youngsters and their families traveled to the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday in order to receive medical attention for wounds they had received during the continuing violence in Gaza. While some were fighting multiple injuries, others were afflicted with cancer. They arrived in the United Arab Emirates in compliance with the President’s instruction, issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to cure a thousand cancer patients and a thousand youngsters.
