The authorities in Abu Dhabi declared on Friday that event organizers will not be required to pay tourism fees on tickets sold until December 31, 2024.
To further promote industry growth, the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has extended the waiver of costs for issuing, distributing, and promoting event tickets throughout the emirate. Typically, a 10% tourism fee was applied to each ticket sold.
Saleh Mohammed Al Geziry, director-general of tourism at DCT Abu Dhabi, stated, “The extension of the tourism fee waiver until the end of the year is part of our efforts to accelerate our growth and provide continued support to our event partners and organizers, who are integral to the emirate’s tourism and entertainment ecosystem.”
The exemption from the tourism tax is one of many recent initiatives designed to promote the growth of Abu Dhabi’s tourism and events sector.
