The President of the UAE Congratulates Modi on his Election Win

The President of the UAE Congratulates Modi on his Election Win.

The Honorable President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, congratulated Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his election victory on Wednesday and wished him luck in guiding his country toward even more significant advancement and development.

I extend my sincere congratulations to my friend Narendra Modi on his re-election as Prime Minister and wish him success in leading India to progress further and grow,” stated Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed. The strategic partnership between our two countries is deeply ingrained, and I am eager for us to keep working together to further our countries’ and people’s common development objectives.

A day after the party unexpectedly regained control with a narrow majority, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s National Democratic Alliance (NDA) formally named him on Wednesday to head a new coalition government for a third term to come.

With his support from allies in the region whose allegiance has changed over time, Modi, a populist who has dominated Indian politics since 2014, will lead a government for the first time that may find it challenging to implement the reform agenda of the new cabinet.

More than the mere majority of 272 seats required to form a government, the BJP-led NDA secured 293 seats in the lower house of parliament, which consists of 543 members. Over 230 seats were won by the India Alliance, which was led by Rahul Gandhi’s Congress Party, a centrist party.
