The experimental operation of the ART project was executed successfully in Abu Dhabi.

Since October 6, 2023, the Automated Rapid Transit (ART) renewable energy Tram, equipped with revolutionary trackless technology from NORINCO International, has been operating effectively in central Abu Dhabi as a demonstration project.

During the first month or so of the experimental operation, trains are scheduled to depart from Reem Mall at a speed of one hour headway on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10:00 am to 14:00 pm. With a total of 25 stops and a length of roughly 27 kilometers, the line connects Reem Mall with Marina Mall and passes through Zayed the First Street and Corniche Street in downtown Abu Dhabi.

China invented and constructed the ART series of trackless trams, which are all powered by lithium batteries and include cutting-edge permanent magnet motors. Smart driving, sustainable energy, low noise levels, and a comfortable ride are all features of ART.

Its short deployment cycle, adaptability to movement, lovely appearance, and affordability are other benefits. While the overall cost of ART is significantly less than that of a typical tram, it can offer the same degree of public transportation service. To ensure that the vehicles operate along the entire line, ART simply requires charging facilities at the first and last stations or depots. It can run directly on regular city roadways.
