The 15th Sharjah Children's Reading Festival is Opened by Sultan.

The Honorable Sharjah’s ruler, Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, also a Supreme Council member, officially opened the 15th Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival (SCRF 2024) on Wednesday.

The “Once Upon a Hero” festival, which is being organized by the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), will take place at the Expo Centre Sharjah till May 12.

The festival officially opened with a warm reception from Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi, the Chairperson of SBA. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was one of the opening’s highlights. It was followed by a musical performance by a Sharjah ensemble that praised His Highness. Sheikh Sultan saw a selection of 186 Arab and foreign publishers from 20 countries during his tour of SCRF. These publishers will present over 1,500 cultural, artistic, and educational events under the direction of 265 guests from 25 countries, including well-known authors, illustrators, artists, and publishers.

His Highness received briefings on the major cultural and educational initiatives of the UAE Board on Books for Young People, the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, the Sharjah Private Education Authority, and the Emirates Publishers Association while visiting their pavilions as part of the tour. While visiting the pavilions of the House of Wisdom, Rubu’ Qarn for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, the Sharjah Social Services Department, and the Sharjah Public Libraries, His Highness also obtained information on strategies, programs, and publications.
