Strata and SailGP plan to Manufacture F50 Components in Abu Dhabi.

SailGP, the world’s most exciting water race, has announced a new production-based partnership with Strata Manufacturing, a composite aerostructures manufacturing facility wholly owned by Mubadala Investment Company. The UAE-based firm will supply and manufacture key components of SailGP’s F50 catamarans.
This new partnership between SailGP and Strata builds on Mubadala’s existing relationship with SailGP, where it is already a Global Series Partner and is committed to delivering one of the league’s three partnership pillars: connecting responsible investment with cutting-edge technology and innovation to drive forward new ideas. Mubadala is also the title sponsor for the upcoming Mubadala New York Sail Grand Prix on June 22nd and 23rd, 2024.

They will collaborate with SailGP Technologies, SailGP’s main manufacturing facility on the South Coast of England, allowing the global league to expand the number of international events in its Season 5 calendar and beyond.

The F50s used by the ten current SailGP league teams are identical and feature cutting-edge technology, resulting from ten years of research and development in high-performance, foiling, and multihull racing. The F50s can reach up to 100 km/h (54 knots/62 mph).

The new partnership was announced at the UAE’s Make it in the Emirates Forum (MIITE), an annual event highlighting regional investment opportunities in manufacturing and technology.
