During this period, I faced the unexpected challenge of losing my job in HR management – a role I had passionately dedicated myself to. This abrupt change thrust me into a period of introspection, where I grappled with the unpredictable nature of the corporate landscape.
During this time of personal upheaval, I recognized the profound importance of Emotional Intelligence and Resilience, not only as essential life skills but as indispensable tools for professional success. Emotional Intelligence, the ability to understand and manage emotions, emerged as a critical driver for effective leadership and team dynamics. Similarly, resilience, the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties, was crucial for navigating the uncertainties and stresses of the modern workplace.”
She added, “This realization was a watershed moment for me. It led me to delve deeper into the realms of these aspects, seeking to understand their nuances and impacts. I embarked on a mission to empower others with these skills, transforming my adversity into an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the corporate sphere. I chose the latter. This challenge catalyzed my transition into a more direct role in people development.”
“To overcome this, I immersed myself in Emotional Intelligence, Resilience and Leadership training, which I believed were the expected skills needed for the future of work. I pursued certifications, attended workshops, and connected with industry leaders. It was a journey marked by continuous learning and unlearning – a process embracing new, innovative approaches.
The turning point was when I began applying these newfound skills in these fields to my life. I realized that to teach these skills effectively, I had to embody them. “Looking back, what would you tell your younger self at the start of your career?”
Soha responds, “Reflecting on my career’s inception, if I had the chance to advise my younger self, my counsel would be rich with the wisdom of experiences lived and lessons learned. Firstly, I would emphasize the importance of embracing every challenge as an opportunity for growth. In the early stages, it’s easy to feel daunted by setbacks or the sheer scale of ambitions. I would reassure my younger self that each hurdle is a stepping stone and catalyst for personal and professional development.
I also advise being fiercely curious and open-minded. The world of work is constantly evolving, and what may seem like established truths today could be redefined tomorrow. I’d tell myself to engage deeply with emerging trends, technologies, and methodologies, understanding that the future belongs to those who prepare for it today.”
“Another critical piece of advice would be to invest deeply in relationships. Building genuine connections is at the heart of HR and coaching. It’s not just about professional networks; it’s about creating meaningful interactions that enrich both parties. I would tell my younger self to listen more, speak less, and always strive to understand the unique narratives of those around me.
Furthermore, I stress the importance of self-care and setting boundaries. I’d remind my younger self that while dedication to work is admirable, it should not come at the expense of personal well-being. Finally, I would encourage my younger self to be bold and visionary. The path less traveled often holds the most significant opportunities for innovation and impact. I’d say, “Trust your instincts, follow your passion, and don’t be afraid to pave your way. Your unique perspective is your greatest asset.” Soha added.

One of my key goals is to author a groundbreaking book targeting HR professionals and Learning & Development specialists. This book, which is currently in the works, aims to be a game-changer in the industry; while covering pivotal aspects of modern HR practices, it will focus on fostering a new understanding and application of critical professional skills. It is intended as a source of knowledge and a springboard for transformative thinking and practices in human resources and organizational development.
In parallel, I am working towards becoming a globally renowned figure in the coaching and training field. I envision standing on international platforms, delivering informative and deeply inspiring speeches, sparking change, and motivating others in the global corporate training and HR community.”
