Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, presented the Order of Zayed to Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo today. The award was given in recognition of his efforts to strengthen close relations between the two countries and improve bilateral cooperation while in office.
During the Indonesian President’s state visit, the Order of Zayed, the UAE’s highest civilian honor bestowed on world leaders and heads of state, was awarded at Qasr Watan in Abu Dhabi.
Sheikh Mohamed stated that awarding the Order of Zayed to Joko Widodo demonstrates his personal respect for him and the highly valued contributions he has made to advance UAE-Indonesian relations. The leader wished the Indonesian President continued health and well-being and more progress and prosperity for the Indonesian people.
President Widodo thanked the UAE President and expressed his pride in receiving the award, which honours the distinguished relations between the two countries and bears the name of the late Sheikh Zayed, a globally inspiring figure with an enduring legacy of humanitarian values.
During the ceremony, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed presented the Order of the Union to Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan. The award recognized the minister’s sincere efforts to strengthen the strategic relations between the UAE and Indonesia.
