The Deputy Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, Major General Staff Sheikh Ahmed Bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, traveled on Etihad Rail’s prototype passenger train from Al Faya, the company’s primary operations and maintenance facility, to Al Qudra in Dubai.
A delegation from the Ministry of Defence followed Major General Staff Sheikh Ahmed Bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan as they examined the company’s accomplishments since its founding and the status of the freight train operations of the UAE National Railway Network.
Since then, more than 2.4 million tonnes of aggregates and 7.4 million tonnes of sulfur have been transported throughout the United Arab Emirates by Etihad Rail.
The delegation was also briefed on Etihad Rail’s significant role in the nation’s transportation and logistics industry, as well as its role in promoting sustainable development and economic growth in the United Arab Emirates by the directives of the country’s astute leadership and under the direction of Etihad Rail Chairman Sheikh Theyab Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Additionally, the UAE Centennial Plan 2071 and Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 are both supported by this donation.
