Sharjah Fosters Talent and Creativity, According to the Head of the Media Bureau

The sixth iteration of the Ithmaar Media Training Programme for Children and Youth, which aims to develop and improve media awareness and capabilities among children and youth aged 10 to 17, ended on Thursday. The Sharjah Press Club is an initiative of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau.

At the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Life Skills Development, Tariq Saeed Allay, Director-General of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, honoured the Ithmaar program partners from various government institutions in Sharjah, as well as national and international media institutions, trainers, and Ithmaar graduates in front of their parents.

The 6th edition of Ithmaar included a varied program that included field trips, training workshops, and four weeks and sixty-four hours of instruction. The program’s goals were to expose participants to a range of print and visual media, equip them with media skills, help them find their passion, and instill a creative media culture in them that combined knowledge, useful application, and enjoyment.

In order to expose participants to media work and provide them with firsthand experience with the media, the training workshops included interactive activities, field trips to prominent media establishments in the nation, such as CNN Arabic, the Arabian Radio Network, and Al Khaleej newspaper.
