Saudi Arabia reveals its ambitions to compete in the Paris World Expo 2030.

PARIS: Several government and commercial sector leaders who spoke at a conference in Paris on Monday night claimed that Saudi Arabia’s capital city is the perfect site for World Expo 2030 because of its rising worldwide status, robust economy, and modern infrastructure.

Delegates from the Bureau International des Expositions, or BIE, were hosted by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City for the live-streamed event for a global audience.

The city chosen to host World Expo 2030 will be decided by the BIE at its 173rd General Assembly on November 28. Saudi Arabia is vying with South Korea and Italy to host the international conference.

The conference was started by Dimitri Kerkentzes, the Secretary-General of the BIE, who was among the attendees.

The Kingdom has the people to host the event, according to keynote speaker Adel Al-Jubeir, the minister of state for foreign affairs and climate envoy for Saudi Arabia. “People under 30 make up seventy percent of our population,” he stated. “You can sense the fervor, the energy, and the excitement that will propel this nation to ever-higher heights.”

In order for them to return home with the knowledge and experience necessary to fully integrate the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia into the international community, we have sent hundreds of thousands of men and women to study at institutions throughout the world, Al-Jubeir stated.
