RIYADH: In conjunction with Riyadh Urban Runners, The Ministry of Health, King Saud University, and Novo Nordisk, the Royal Danish Embassy in Riyadh held a family run on Friday to commemorate World Diabetes Day.
All ages were welcome to attend the event, which was organized by the College of Medicine at King Saud University.
“Together we are trying to defeat the challenges that diabetes is posing to a lot of people,” stated Asbjorn Christensen, deputy head of mission at the Royal Danish Embassy.
Christensen continued, emphasizing the value of working with Saudi Arabian organizations to promote World Diabetes Day, which is observed on November 14. “For me, it’s great to be here and to be involved in the challenge,” Christensen said.
“Having a bilateral connection is one of the advantages we can enjoy as a nation.
“Novo Nordisk is a Danish corporation that has been around for a while. Diabetes has been treated by them for more than a century.
In 1923, Novo Nordisk was established with the mission of bringing about change to end diabetes.
Christensen continued, “A day like this is embracing the awareness of treatment.” His wife has had diabetes for thirty years.
“Diabetes is more than simply a long-term illness; it’s a daily struggle. You must give it your whole attention each and every day.
